Course Details.

The goal of the “Contemporary Imagery” course is to offer a comprehensive training program aimed at unemployed young people, professionals seeking to update their skills, and individuals looking to transition into the field of digital content production and creativity using artificial intelligence. The program guides participants from the basics of visual culture and the language of images through to advanced production using generative AI tools, providing practical skills that are immediately applicable in the job market.

In addition to technical modules focused on photography, video, and AI-driven content creation, the program covers fundamental topics such as the history of new media, the ethics of artificial intelligence, copyright, and responsibility in the use of digital images. This approach enables the training of well-informed professionals who are capable of understanding not only the opportunities offered by new technologies but also the limitations, implications, and responsibilities of contemporary visual production.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to design and produce professional visual content, develop a competitive portfolio, and actively enter the workforce, working in one of the most dynamic and rapidly growing sectors: digital creativity and AI content creation. The program goes beyond simply teaching tools; it aims to train well-rounded, independent, and innovative creatives capable of leading visual projects with critical insight, aesthetic consistency, and interdisciplinary skills.

The “Contemporary Imagery” course consists of three weekly classes, which can be attended in person in Florence or online, with some modules delivered through a blended learning format to ensure maximum flexibility. The program combines theoretical lectures, hands-on exercises, and the development of individual projects—all of which are essential for acquiring practical skills in digital content creation and the use of creative artificial intelligence.

During the course, students have access to the school’s facilities and equipment, which are designed to support study, experimentation, and production. This approach allows students to work in a professional environment, fostering the development of personal projects and portfolios.

The course is scheduled to begin in October 2026. The program is further enriched by collaborations with leading organizations in the cultural and creative sectors, including the Museo Galileo, MAD Florence, and the Bright Festival, offering students opportunities for direct engagement with institutions and real-world contexts of contemporary visual production.

The Course It is strongly focused on practical application and design in real-world contexts. Students work on applied projects and collaborations with companies and institutions, developing concrete campaigns and content in the fields of digital creativity and artificial intelligence.

The program is enriched by presentations from world-class professionals—who are part of the Studio Marangoni network—who bring direct experience, ongoing professional development, and connections to the professional world.
